SCORE San Luis Obispo County partners with local organizations that offer similar and/or complementary services to the business advice that SCORE offers.

Economic Vitality Corporation (www.sloevc.org)

Mission Community Services Corporation (www.mcscorp.org)

Mission Community Services Corporation is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for potential entrepreneurs and small business owners to become self-sustaining, successful contributors to their communities, with special assistance for low-income, minority and non-profit businesses.

Through its Women’s Business Center, MCSC clients who are economically or socially disadvantaged, receive comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics to help them start and grow their own businesses

Business & Career One Stop

Business and Career One Stop of San Luis Obispo County
Business and Career One-Stops (BCOSC's) are designed to provide a full range of assistance to job seekers and employers under one roof. BCOSC’s were established under the Workforce Investment Act. The centers offer training referrals, career counseling, job listings, and similar employment-related programs. Available at the BCOSC will be Goodwill personnel, CA State Employment Development Department staff, Cuesta College instructors and private agencies to assist employers and job seekers. Goodwill employs nine people full-time to staff the center and satellite offices.

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" (www.score.org)

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. SBA recognizes that small business is critical to the economic recovery and strength, to building America's future, and to helping the United States compete in today's global marketplace.
Although SBA has grown and evolved in the years since it was established in 1953, the bottom line mission remains the same. The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses. Through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships with public and private organizations, SBA delivers its services to people throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, the U. S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
